Excellence in Economic Development Award

On May 31, 2007, Paulding County was notified by the Economic Development Administration that its master plan for the area surrounding the County’s new General Aviation Airport had been named the winner amongst three finalists including Auburn University and New York City for the prestigious Excellence in Economic Development Award.

The Master plan features cluster developments consisting of Hi-Tech Office and Industrial Park sites, retail and residential areas and a lake focused resort area. An unique component of the plan leaves over 50 percent of the planned area as green space.
