Paulding People:
With an explosive growth rate within the last ten years of more than 96 percent, Paulding is definitely people. More than 60 percent of our 112,411 residents have migrated here from elsewhere. Attracted by an impressive quality of life, these new and predominantly younger residents are becoming an integral part of county life. Young couples have located by the hundreds to begin their families, to place their children in Paulding’s excellent school system and to start and/or expand their own businesses.
Accessibility:
More than ever before, Paulding’s transportation system brings access to Georgia’s “World of Opportunity.” With the completion of Highway 278 to Camp Creek Parkway, a drive to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport can be completed within 40 minutes. The four lane of Highway 120, along with intersection improvements to Highway 61 and 92, have made travel throughout the county more efficient and direct than ever before. Further, planned improvement to Highway 61 and Highway 92 will make the county more accessible to I-20, I-285, and I-75.
Location:
Paulding County is a key location for business, travel, and tourism because it is surrounded by the major cities of Atlanta, Birmingham, and Chattanooga. I-20, I-285, and I-75 are just minutes away, making all of the Metro-Atlanta and regional resources readily accessible.
Land:
Rich timberland, agribusiness, landscaping, and nurseries contribute greatly to the local economy. Primary commodities include poultry, corn, livestock, oats, wheat, and pecans. The county has more than 1500 subdivisions, but there are still plenty of wide-open spaces left; seven out of ten acres remain as untouched forestland. The County, the Chamber of Commerce, and private entities are working with The Trust for Public Land to implement the newly completed “green print” study within Paulding County.
